General
By using the services available through Tradeshop you are bound by the Terms of Business as set out below. Contractors will also be bound by the Code of Conduct as published by Tradeshop. If you do not agree to the terms below and also for Contractors in the Code of Conduct then you may not use the Services offered by Tradeshop.
Mission Statement
Tradeshop aims to provide an introductory Service to Clients who seek a local Contractor who is reliable and trustworthy. We hold a register of local tradespeople who are selected (and can be de-selected) as a result of references, recommendation and feedback from Clients. Tradeshop also offers a range of direct Services and competitive introductions to small businesses and sole traders involved in the construction industry. Tradeshop is not contracted to either Client or Contractor except through the terms and conditions below which all parties accept.
Glossary
‘Tradeshop’ is the trading name of Tradeshop Limited and any subsidiary companies.
‘Client’ means any individual, company or partnership who uses Service(s) offered by Tradeshop to contact Contractors
‘Client’ means any individual, company or partnership who uses Service(s) offered by Tradeshop to contact Contractors
‘Contractor’ means any individual, company or partnership that is associated with Tradeshop through registration or introduction.
‘Registered Contractor’ means any individual, company or partnership that has been admitted to the Tradeshop Register of Contractors (this may be rescinded at any time)
‘Contract’ means the agreement between Client and Contractor to carry out building work or any other work by a Contractor for the Client. This contract may be verbal or in writing
Jurisdiction and Governing Law
These terms of business shall be governed solely in accordance with English Law; any dispute arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. If any conditions in this document are held to be illegal or unenforceable then these shall be discounted and the remainder of this agreement shall remain upheld.
Competence
Whilst Tradeshop and our employees will make every reasonable effort to provide a professional, correct and accurate service to Contractor and Client, we cannot be held liable for actions by Client, Contractor or employee that invalidate the Terms of Business that have been set down in this document and the Code of Conduct or any other Tradeshop terms that have been agreed between participating parties in the spirit of the mission statement.
In using the Services offered by Tradeshop you acknowledge that Tradeshop is not acting as a Contractor or site-agent and is not responsible for the actions of any Contractor, Client or employee. It is the responsibility of any Client to select a suitable Contractor, to negotiate the terms for any work they wish to commission and to enter into a Contract with the Contractor for those works.
Tradeshop will not be held liable or responsible in any way for the Contract between the Client and Contractor.
Tradeshop will make every effort to take up references for each and every Registered Contractor and keep copies of those references on file.
Tradeshop reserves the right to make a judgement on the validity of references and what value may be placed on them and this is accepted by all parties
